From Research to Revenue: Generating High-Quality School Leads in the Education Sector

Schools are under increasing pressure to identify learning needs early, improve literacy outcomes and support a growing number of pupils with additional needs. Reliable assessment data helps educators understand where support is needed and tailor interventions effectively.

Our client provides educational assessment tools used by schools to support pupil development and learning outcomes. Alongside its products, the organisation commissions sector research and publishes reports on literacy development, SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities) identification and pupil wellbeing.

Building on the engagement created through these studies, Blueberry ran a targeted outreach campaign to convert this interest into conversations with key decision-makers in schools and generate qualified appointments.

  • Nearly half of conversations converted into a qualified appointment (46.06%)
  • More than 6,500 calls delivered across the two-month campaign

Targeted Lead Generation Strategy for Schools

The campaign was built around a highly targeted, insight-led approach designed to reflect the client’s core areas of expertise and the real challenges facing schools today. Rather than taking a broad outreach approach, we structured engagement around four key themes: SEND identification, literacy development, speech and language assessment, and reading engagement insight. Each focus area allowed us to tailor conversations to specific priorities within schools, ensuring relevance at every touchpoint and improving the quality of engagement.

Campaign Focus Areas & Engagement Approach

SEND Identification & Baseline Assessment > We engaged SENCOs and school leaders in conversations around early identification of learning needs, assessment gaps and intervention planning. Using a consultative approach, we positioned our client’s SEND and baseline tools against each school’s specific challenges.

Literacy Development > We followed up with schools engaged in our client’s literacy initiatives, exploring reading challenges, existing assessment approaches and areas for improvement. Conversations generated qualified appointments around literacy support and reading development solutions.

Speech & Language Assessment > We re-engaged webinar attendees and warm prospects interested in speech and language assessment. Discussions focused on increasing communication needs in early years and primary settings, converting existing interest into sales conversations.

Reading Engagement & Insight > We engaged schools who expressed an interest in our client’s literacy research and reading engagement insight, using conversations around pupil reading habits and reading culture to uncover qualified opportunities for the sales team.

Blueberry played a key role in ensuring the client’s significant investment in webinars, sector reports and educational research translated into tangible commercial outcomes. Rather than allowing valuable engagement activity to sit unused or be followed up inconsistently, we stepped in to immediately activate these warm audiences – reaching contacts while their interest and context were still fresh. This ensured that high-value marketing outputs were no longer standalone awareness tools, but active drivers of pipeline generation.

By managing proactive follow-up and qualification, we enabled the client’s internal sales teams to focus their time on the highest-value, most sales-ready opportunities, extending the return on the existing marketing investment. In doing so, the campaign demonstrated how structured, timely engagement can turn research-led activity into a consistent and scalable revenue engine.
