A Strong Reputation with a Complex Proposition
Our client had built a strong reputation through its expertise, relationships and ability to help organisations raise their profile, build partnerships and unlock new opportunities. However, like many specialist businesses, the challenge was translating that value into a simple, compelling message for new prospects.
The business offered far more than traditional communications support. Its real strength came from the combination of strategic insight, trusted networks and access to opportunities that could help organisations grow. While existing clients understood the impact of this approach, communicating that wider value to prospective clients in a way that immediately resonated was more challenging.
Understanding What Made the Consultancy Different
To address this, we worked closely with the team before speaking to a single prospect. Early workshops and strategy sessions helped us understand what made their offering different, review the existing sales approach and identify where opportunities were most often being lost. Together, we simplified how the organisation described themselves, creating a clearer proposition that could be tested in the market.
Putting the Approach to the Test
A key part of the campaign involved A/B testing different approaches, conversation starters and messaging frameworks to understand what generated the strongest engagement.
Throughout the campaign we continuously reviewed feedback, refined messaging and adjusted the approach based on real conversations with decision-makers.
One proposition initially proved useful as a way to open conversations. However, as feedback was reviewed and the messaging was refined, it became clear that buyers were more interested in the wider outcomes the business could help them achieve than in any single tool, product or service.
The conversations also revealed that many organisations were underusing awards, funding successes and industry recognition despite having valuable stories to tell. Together, these insights helped simplify the messaging, shifting the focus towards growth, visibility, partnerships and the opportunities the business could help unlock.
