For those of you that have been following our journey, we recently completed the Leeds 10k in aid of Zest. Now our legs and lungs have recovered, it’s time to step things up a gear…
You may have heard on the grapevine that we have naively signed up to do the 3 peaks challenge with our partner charity Zest. We have been partnered with Zest for some time now and have been collectively raising money to support the cause.
Zest offer support to people living in disadvantaged areas of Leeds to address health inequalities and social isolation through activities which improve not only physical health but mental health and emotional wellbeing too. Being based in Leeds ourselves, Zest is very close to our hearts and we’re over the moon to be able to make a difference in the city we all love!
What is the 3 Yorkshire 3 peaks?
Naturally, in keeping with the local theme, we’re doing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge. For those of you that don’t already know, the Yorkshire 3 peak challenge is a 24-mile hike up three of the largest peaks in Yorkshire (Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough), a total ascent of 5200 ft! The aim is to do it in under 12 hours…
Why we’re doing it?
As well as to take in the stunning scenery of the Yorkshire Dales, we are trying to raise money for Zest so they can continue to help disadvantaged communities in Leeds. With over 150,000 people living below the poverty line in Leeds, it’s important we all do our bit to help those less fortunate then ourselves. The sponsorship link can be found here - any donations to help us reach our target would be greatly appreciated!
Stay tuned to see how we get on…
